About Me

Meet Hannah — The Therapist Who Told "Good Girl" Culture to Sod Off

From People-Pleaser to Straight-Talking Therapist

I wasn't always a therapist. For years, I was the queen of people-pleasing, working myself to exhaustion in various helping roles. From nursing to teaching to supporting adults with brain injuries.

Like many women, I'd mastered the art of looking like I had it all together while feeling completely lost inside. I changed how I dressed, the music I listened to, and my opinions just to fit in. I said "yes" when I meant "f**k no" and carried everyone else's problems while silencing my own voice.

Born and raised in the North West, I learned early on that strength meant soldiering on, not "making a fuss," and certainly not asking for help. I was the one who kept it all together for everyone else. And I was drowning.

Then came 2019 — the year of my breakdown and breakthrough.

Hitting rock bottom was the wake-up call I needed. I finally sought therapy myself (after years of thinking I didn't deserve the space or that others had it worse). That decision changed everything.

Through my own therapeutic journey, I discovered that true strength isn't about carrying everyone's burdens without complaint. True strength is acknowledging when you're struggling, setting proper boundaries, and reaching out for support.

This revelation led me to train as a pluralistic therapist, committed to helping other women break free from the same patterns that had kept me small for so long.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I'm not supporting clients, you'll find me painting, redecorating my colourful home, enjoying music, going for walks with friends, or having Sunday lunch with family. I'm an ambivert who values both social connection and cozy nights in.

As a mum of two, I understand the juggle of modern life and the importance of carving out time for yourself amidst all the responsibilities.

And yes, I really am a tea addict — the kettle's always on! Proper brews are an essential part of the therapeutic process as far as I'm concerned.
